Day 02
The Acclimatization | Tsomgo Lake Excursion

A round trip to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft) and Baba Mandir. It is essential to get your body used to the altitude today, as we climb higher tomorrow. Return to Gangtok for the night.

Day 03
The High Plateau | Gangtok to Nathang Valley

We leave the standard tourist map. Drive past Tsomgo and climb further to Nathula (border view) and the Old Baba Mandir. Cross the Elephant Lake (Kupup) at 13,000 ft. Arrive at Nathang Valley (13,500 ft)—the "Ladakh of the East." The landscape is barren, golden, and breathtaking.

The 96 Turns | Nathang to Zuluk
